Gateways Aastra X Series - Combining power with security

Over the years, Aastra has been investing in research and development aimed at promoting the concept of open Voice over IP, which comprises solutions that are increasingly independent of hardware and are based on SIP (Session Initiation Protocol). The Aastra X Series was designed in this spirit and is a combination of power, flexibility and security.
The Aastra X Series gateways may be used either standalone or in a multi-site.
Designed as an “all in one” product, the gateway provides the enterprise communication services for 6 to 1000 users.
It includes more than 500 telephony features, support voice, video and fax, and some voice services.

  • VoIP direct path architecture
  • Voice messaging and unified voice mail (e-voicemail)
  • Automatic Call Distribution (ACD)
  • Interactive voice responder (IVR)
  • Tones and Music on hold customization
  • Hotels and hospitality services
  • Embedded web management portal
  • Embedded DHCP, FTP, NTP servers
  • MD5 SIP Digest authentication
  • Voice and signalling ciphering
  • Duplicated power supply and motherboard (AXD)
  • Dual homing for IP/SIP sets, in multisite

Aastra X Series gateways and Aastra 5000 Server use the same Aastra 5000 software, providing a transparent, fully featured service when networked (multi-site).

Aastra X Series meets two types of needs:

  • AXS, AXL and AXD are used as iPbx for independent and stand-alone architectures.
  • For networking and centralisation needs, IP call processing is centralised in the Aastra 5000 while AXS, AXL or AXD serve as media gateway.

Aastra thus makes a modular Voice over IP offer which can adapt to all site sizes.
